A New Name for an Old Friend

We’re the Artz Center for Developmental Health & Audiology.

Maybe you know us as the Hearing and Speech Institute, having served the community for over 80 years, or maybe as the Northwest Early Childhood Institute, advocating change for young children for over 10 years. Since the two organizations merged in 2003, we know it’s been a little confusing at times.

Over the years, our work has gotten bigger, and so has the vision that inspires us. We realized we needed a new name—one that can hold all we are, and all we hope to become.

Our new name honors a dear friend and supporter, Frederick “Jack” Artz, who passed away in 2008. His compassion and generosity changed thousands of lives and helped make us who we are.
